Installer

“Pairing code was not ready yet”
Wait a few seconds and open %LOCALAPPDATA%\Idlerate\pairing.txt, or restart Idlerate from the Start menu / logon task. Codes expire in about 10 minutes — get a fresh one by restarting the app.

Ollama did not install
Install Ollama for Windows yourself, confirm http://127.0.0.1:11434 answers, then run .\idlerate.exe install --no-ollama or just start Idlerate if it is already installed. Pull a model with ollama pull llama3.2:1b (or another tag from the VRAM table).

Tray icon missing
Idlerate may be running without a tray (--no-tray) or as a background task only. Check Task Manager for idlerate.exe, or run .\idlerate.exe from %LOCALAPPDATA%\Idlerate in an interactive session.

Pairing and dashboard

Code not accepted
Codes are case-insensitive but must be current. Sign in first, then submit the code on the dashboard. If you already paired this PC, the card should already be on your account — you do not need the code again unless you removed the machine.

Machine stuck Offline
Wake the PC, sign into Windows, and confirm Idlerate is running (tray or Task Manager). Corporate proxies that break websocket upgrades can also block the relay; try from a normal network. Default relay is https://relay.idlerate.dev.

Verification code box on login
If your email is already verified, you can ignore that box and sign in with email and password. Use the 6-digit code or the email link only when the account still needs verification.

Agent connection

MCP server will not connect
Check the URL is exactly https://relay.idlerate.dev/mcp, the header is Authorization: Bearer idr_v1_xxxxxxxx_xxxxxxxx with no extra spaces, and the key was not revoked. Restart your agent or bot after editing its MCP config.

subscription_required
Your account needs an active trial or plan before run_model works. Finish signup and email verification to start your trial. Login alone is not enough.

missing scope ...
The key was created without that scope. Create a new key with the scopes you need (Keys).

unknown machine / machine does not have that model / no machine has that model
Call list_models and use an exact name or device_id from the response. Pull the model on that PC with Ollama if it is missing.

device_paused stays true
Resume from the tray or dashboard. If Pause while gaming is on, close the fullscreen app or wait until the GPU is free.

Jobs

Job stays queued
The chosen machine is offline, paused, or busy. Wait, resume, or pass another machine. Use get_status with wait_ms: 25000 and retry.

get_result errors
The job must be succeeded first. Poll get_status until then. For large outputs, page with offset / next_offset until done is true (Tools reference).

Slow or empty answers
Confirm the model fits in VRAM (ollama ps on the PC). Try a smaller tag from the starter table.

Still stuck

From the tray, open View logs, note the time of the failure, and contact support with your account email — not with your API key.
